I got involved in The (re)Generation Project one year before completing my environmental science degree in 2014. Combining my passion for science and communication to effectively engage audiences in environmental issues is what I hope to do into the future; this project encapsulates everything I love.
I felt a great connection to nature, growing up my family holidays involved camping with my family around Australia; most of my childhood memories are out in the bush. Through my teenage years I drifted from nature, focusing on dance and getting caught up in high school life. Straying from nature and getting caught up in the angst and stress of being a teenager made me forget the mental health benefits of the outdoors. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I connected with nature once again, realizing how important it is to me. I want to help others reinvigorate their connection with nature.
