My name is Garrett Eckerson. I grew up in the eastern United States and have alway been close to nature. As a child I would play in the pine tree forests around my house and loved every minute of it. I moved to New York City when I was 18 to study film and since then I have decided to pursue wildlife filmmaking as a medium to expressing myself. The opportunity arose to learn more about narrative filmmaking in the form of this reGeneration project with Macquarie University. I jumped at the chance to learn from other like minded artist and to help influence a positive view of nature. I was persuaded by the goals of the project to reach out to the youth of the world in order to reveal a great place of being that is the natural world. I hope that I can make a film that will touch someones heart and get them outdoors or at least thinking positively about it!
