My name is Joshua Stainlay and I’m a 24 year old environmental scientist studying at UTS. I was lucky enough to grow up next to the bush with some very outdoors oriented parents. I spent my younger years camping, hiking, canyoning, kayaking and anything else outside. Like any teenager I began to rebel against my parents, refusing to partake in any more activities because it wasn’t what my friends were doing. It wasn’t until I reached my late teens that I realised how important the outdoors were in my life, a place to clear my head and a sense of belonging. The (re)Generation Project has become an opportunity for me to share my knowledge of the natural world and hope to inspire others to get the same positive benefits out of the outdoors that I get. I joined because I love to see people get a kick out of seeing and doing things that have been so pivotal in my life.
